DECEMBER PILE: Dee Jay and Guile!

The other big thing along with the Spider-Verse in the Decembee3r Pile of Loot was new Jada Toys Street Fighter figures. I love this line so much that I got at least one figure I can’t use in my Special Future Street Fighter Project, Dee Jay. And one that WILL work for the project, Guile.

AT LONG LAST PRE-ORDER: Scarlet Spider!

 OK, we’re doing these a little out of order, technically, but since Hasbro just dropped a whole new wave of Adcross The Spider-Verse figures for pre-order, and I grabbed three of them and may be in for one or two more down the road, and now I don’t have to be tempted by the $90 Bandai Pavitr Prabhakar, let’s go with the Technically Not An Across The Spider-Verse Marvel Legend of Scarlet Spider!

FIG PHOTO: “Bro time!”

OK! This is the last thing I have ready to go for the time being. Nothing new coming in the door for a bit, and it’s gonna be about a week before I’m in a position to start any new pics. I do have a project in progress, but it’s stupd complicated and stupid fussy and is producing something to be used in other pics down the line. So let’s go out on a deeply ridiculous note.

FIG PHOTO: “All The Championships”

Nothing fancy here. I got some Danhausen parts, I dug four belts out from the Big Bag Of Belts, and did as the man has commanded - give Danhausen all the gold.

This was just a little something to fiddle with during tour bus down time.

PREORDERS ACQUIRED: Double Danhausen!

 In yet another undisclosed location, getting caught up on posts before I return to a feet-high stack of preorder boxes. DOUbZLE DANHAUSENS!

@midnight LIVE Power Rankings (Feb 13-16)

Yep! That happened.
A week of all-live @midnights tells us two things. One, the show can totally be done live and be entertaining and insane. And two, they shouldn't do it more than once a year. Because the live shows really take the focus off the guest comedians and their jokes. The rankings, as a result, are even more arbitrary than usual.

@midnight Power Rankings (Feb 6-9)

Honestly, this episode was a bit of a wash.

The @midnight crew probably spent a lot of last week fretting about this week's live episodes, which explains a fairly lackluster week with a lot of weak performances. Also, they booked Nick Swardson, who dropped a "suck my own dick" callback so obvious I spent an entire commercial break knowing it was coming. Special props to first-timer Alan Tudyk, who came out strong, and Josh Johnson, who made Thursday's show watchable thanks to about three killer jokes.

@midnight Power Rankings (Jan 30 - Feb 2)

Go ahead and celebrate. You earned it.
Yeah, I skipped a week because I actually couldn't watch all four of, um, two weeks ago's episodes that week or most of last week. I'm caught up now, though, and it's a good week to get caught up on, with some standout performances, especially Whitney Cummings and Will Sasso on Thursday's show, which was loose and filthy. Also, Ashling Bea is fucking hilarious every single time she's on.

@midnight Power Rankings (Jan 9-12)

Not too bad for a "cas of" episode.
Hey, @midnight, you did OK this week. Not great, and in one of the weirdest confluences I've ever seen, every single show this week featured the funniest person on the panel ending up with the least points, but you did OK. The big surprise this week is Thomas Sadoski, who I wasn't familiar with and who was really funny.

@midnight Power Rankings (Jan 3-5)

Hard to believe they've done this 500 times.
It's a new year for @midnight, which means... nothing, really. Well, a short week from the holiday and a 500th episode rife with talent. A somewhat subdued Kyle Kinane managed to not top the charts this week despite calling Chris Hardwick "a leprechaun with a court date", which I love.

@midnight Power Rankings (12/11-14)

He ateus an hourus before swimmingus.

@midnight closes out the year with a strong week, with four shows from great to very good. Goddamn, I love Morgan Murphy. She brought the 92% Dark and brought it hard, but always judiciously and fair. But really, solid performances throughout, even Matt Besser, who I don't always like in this format.

@midnight Power Rankings (Dec 5-8)

A very nice joke indeed.
Clearly, I liked my comedy this week like I like my Pepsi - dark. Steve Agee and Mike Lawrence brought their customary dark streaks to standout performances on @midnight this week, but bonus props to Nate Fernald, who I remember as the Nice Boy Telling Nice Jokes from the Pete Holmes Show, who's best joke wasn't even dark, just ridiculously brilliant. Monkey Beatboxing Championships!

@midnight Power Rankings (Nov 28-Dec 1)

Almost a Pete Holmes Show reunion!
Consistency is the watchword for last wee's @midnight performances. Pete Holmes took the week because we haven't seen him in a while and also he spent most of the time insulting his buddy Joe DeRosa. Dana Carvey brought up the rear, but amongst the old unfunny people who've done the show, he did pretty well. Evenyone else was solid to a degree that makes these rankings even more arbitrary than usual.

@midnight Power Rankings (Nov 14-17)

Learning fun new things about Uncrustables.
Obviously, we need to talk about Doub Benson's unprecedentedly low place on the Power Rankings this week. Doug and the level of copetition this week had one thing in common - they were both a bit too high for him to do well. It happens to all guys at some point, Doug, and of course, these rankings are arbitrary, pointless, and not intended as a slight on any of the performers.

@midnight Power Rankings (11/7-10)

Not the easiest @midnight to watch, even days later.
Ah, election week comedy. It was an easy decision to make to delete the entire week's Daily Shows, it was easy to wait several days before diving into the Full Frontal, but the live @midnight was tricky because it happened literally at the point where we all knew in our hearts that things had gone horribly wrong. Thank you Ron Funches and Dolph Lundgren.

@midnight Power Rankings (Oct 25-27)

Possibly the week's realy winner. Buzzer.
Short week on @midnight, but a solid one. Colton Dunn won the week with a couple of absolutely killer jokes. Jenny Zigrino gets bumped down the list for the most arbitrary judgment I make in this ranking - going to six words in a BLANK IN FIVE WORDS Hashtag War not once, but twice.

@midnight Power Rankings (Oct 17-20)

Hey, I can still do screencaps from the Comedy Central app on my iPad!
This week, let's talk a little about Jesse Joyce. I run hot and cold on Jesse Joyce on @midnight. I freely admit this, and I think a review of the Power Rankings would bear that out. But when he hits, he hits HARD. His performance last Tuesday was up there in the all time greats of @midnight history, and he beat out a LOT of good performances this week.
