OK, we’re doing these a little out of order, technically, but since Hasbro just dropped a whole new wave of Adcross The Spider-Verse figures for pre-order, and I grabbed three of them and may be in for one or two more down the road, and now I don’t have to be tempted by the $90 Bandai Pavitr Prabhakar, let’s go with the Technically Not An Across The Spider-Verse Marvel Legend of Scarlet Spider!I preordered this when the retrow wave dropped back this spring from Entertainment Earth, who then did not ship it to me when they shipped the other figs I’d pre-ordered in that wave (Tombstone, Jack O’ Lnatern). I then switched my pre-order to BBTS when they opened a new batch of pre-orders up, then waited for Hasbro to come through, then waited to ship my Pile of Loot. A lot of waiting.
And normally I wouldn’t give two shits about Ben Reilly, or the Clone Saga, but the microscopic amount of Andy Samberg’s tortured angsty 90’s Scarlet Spider in Across The Spider-verse meant I needed this bad.
And he’s great! He’s on the Renew Your Vows body, which means I now have three figures with that body and none of them are a proper Spidey. (Daredevil, Deadpool, Scarlet Spider). Which means he’s as poseable as they get without getting into fussy, expensive, fragile figures.
All the details are great, and he comes with the official approved Six Spidey Hnads (two fists, two thwips, two wall-crawls) so zero complaints.
For the pic, I played around trying to draw the jaggedy outline effects from the movie and didn’t quite nail it but also didn’t feel like digging in and really working it out.
