Aspect ratios are fun!Figure #2 from the Spider-Man ‘67 three-pack is Electro!
Also very accurate, also a lot of reuse. I’m never gonna turn down more of the Big Electrical Effects that debuted with the Francine Frye Electro, but nothing in the cartoon looks like that. The unique things are the heads (Angry and Very Angry, Very Angry shown) and the fingerblasts, which are cartoon-perfect, the kind of thing Hasbro almost never does, and my favorite things in the entire set.
Other than that it’s the unique, slightly more boring paint job which is a hallmark of the First 20 Episodes cartoon design.
For the pic, I found a long panning background in the cartoon, screenshotted it, stitched them together and cleaned them up and made a background that is in fact even wider than this, which I cropped because I didn’t quite use all of it. The First 20 of the cartoon has Spider-Man flying backwards into stuff a lot, so that’s what I tried to evoke here. I continue to work with the Motion Blur filter in Affinity, which ver works the way I want it to, but I was able to play with it here in a very different way to get what I was looking for relatively easily.
