POSER DANCE PARTY!BBy which, of course, I mean “recent toys that pose really well” and also “figs I had readily available” because this pic is serving multiple masters.
First, finally, it’s the gotchapic for the MGA “Make It Mini” record player, which is different from the Zoro “Mini Brands” record player I got a couple months ago, with its own set of mini records you can get and a whole different style of accessory.
The sound clips are longer, the record player is a bit more modern, it comes with speakers and a console to put it on and store records, it can be firmware updated over Bluetooth (!) and the rarity scheme on the blind balls seems a little fairer. That’s the good.
The bad is less in the player than in the record balls. There are only 20 songs (this round - they clearly plan multiple releases going forward), the records themselves aren’t as realistic as the Mini Brands ones (more of a box than a sleeve, only the front art is accurate, no inner sleeve), the only accessory is a milk crate in one of six random colors, it also comes with a thing to use the record as a keychain which helps me not at all, and the balls are two bucks more than the Mini Brands Vinyl.
Still fun, though, and the console improved exponentially once Cathy glued a back to it.
One of the other masters this served is to kick off a long-term plan to build a library of rooms. I need rooms. A lot of stuff happens in rooms and I need to build out rooms with layers so I can drop figs in them doing stuff like Ryu sliding down a banister or Swedish Chef (not a poser, just easy to get to and appropriate) behind the kitchen peninsula. Then I can do things like add the carpet (like here) and furniture and such and just have multipurpose spaces when I need them.
