FIG PHOTO: “Wub”

Still a classic gag.So, in the very  first issue of The Tick, said Tick tried to brake his fall by catching a flagpole on the side of a building.

The flagpole IMMEDIATELY snapped off under his arm and he fell to the street below, and the flagpole spent the next three pages under his arm, still vibrating from the impact, with a “wub wub wub” sound effect the entire time.

This, obviously, is an homage to that moment.

I’ll say this about the Warburton Tick series. There are almost zero establishing shots in the entire thing. Unhelpful. This pic is outside Arthur’s apartment building from the Amazon show and I don’t love it but it did what I needed.

The flagpole is a Fortnite fishing rod with some bits shaved off digitally.
