Everything’s on fire. Do what makes you happy.Tangerine is a lot like Anubis and Bastet. From the first time I saw her, I thought to myself, “This is an incredible toy. I love this toy. I cannot justify buying this toy.”
There are still mamy toys that fall under those criteria. But in 2026, I’m making space to justify the absolute top of the list items in that set. And Tangerine has always ben #1 on the list.
There are gonna be ten pictures with her, so I’ll try to spread out the discussion of the actual figure, but basically, Mezco Rumble Society is almost entirely inaccessible to me. Preorders vanish within seconds of them going up, the standard list price is prohibitive anyway, and backfilling via eBay is either impossible or mostly insane.
But Tangerine is the one that clicked with me the hardest, the one I think of when I think of figs I wish I could have, and, with the help of an eBay gift card I got from in-laws for my birthday, my out of pocket cost was just over original list price. And she is, as expected, completely fucking glorious.
The pic series is based entirely on the Sifl and Oll song “Tangerine”, also known as “Actin’ Sexy”, and there’ll be one for each line of the lyrics. Luckily it’s a short song. The original plans for this squad included Hoth Leia, but it turns out that Tangerine is a tall girl in a slightly tall 6” line of figures, and Leia is a very short girl in a short line of 6” figures, so Leia only comes up to Tangerine’s chest, and you can fudge scale until you can’t.
