You see, it was called “morphing”…Shortly after the Pile of Loot hit, Hasbro decided to start shipping a big chunk of my November preorders in October, one at a time. First to arrive out of the four X-Men ‘97 Wave 3 presorders I made was Morph.
Like the rest of the wave, these are average to very slightly above average Marvel Legends. Basic bodies, routine paint jobs, appropriate heads, hands, and/or accessories. Morph comes with some hands, a “Morph As A Person” head, and a Gyrick head. This Morph is very much in line with the ‘97 redesign, with the younger look and the default-to-blank-head thing.
On the TV in this pic is a still from the “Black or White” video, which, of course, is one of the earliest known examples of computer “morphing” technology that was a big deal at the time. There’s a LOT less actual “morphing” than you remember there being in the video, and it’s also subtler than you remember.
