SEPT PILE OF LOOT: Bossk!

 FIVE DOWN, ONE TO GO.

ACQUISITIONS/PHOTOS: Catchup Post!

Blogger appears to have fixed the fuckery that kept me from uploading photos under iPadOS 18, so let’s talk about what I couldn’t post except on Instagram, newest to oldest.

RECRETIONS: London Ladders, Pagehausen

Had the house to myself during Labor Day week, so I set up the big photo box and set some stuff up.

IMPULSE BUY: Brian Cage

Around All IN weekend, I was comparing the current AEW roster to my figure roster and marveling at how much roster churn competes with the time it takes to put a figure out. And remembered I didn’t have a Brian Cage.

IMPULSE BUY: Full Gear MJF/Moxley Two Pack (feat. The Crowd)

OK, i sort of spent $20 on a robe.

I’d seen this Full Gear-themed 2-pack of Robed MJF and Jon Moxley in Target for a couple of weeks, not really knowing the price, seeing $19.99 shelf tags around it, but thinking they couldn’t possibly be selling a two-pack of normally $19.99 figures for twenty bucks, right? Well, they were. And I didn’t have MJF’s robe, and I didn’t have Jon Moxley due to relative apathy, so…

The MJF also has a more beardy, more smirky head, which is nice. The Mox is fine, although facial and head-hair wise he hasn’t looked like this for a while. But he does have the BCC sweatshirt, which I can technically use on two other figures as long as I don’t show the back where it’s Mox-specific. So, yeah, for twenty bucks, I got, in order of preference, an MJF robe, an MJF head, a BCC sweatshirt, a Mox figure, an MJF figure, and two more microphones. Not a bad deal.

This also features my first attempt at using the Arena (photo box with real scale ring) and The Crowd to form a single picture, and while I’m still working out some details and techniques, I ain’t mad at how it turned out.

PROJECTS: “The Crowd” Part 1”

I’ve been working on this, on and off, for over three months.

The Crowd: a stadium crowd built out of Normie Squad action figures. Barricades, figures shot in folding chairs in groups of five, all painstakingly assembled into a 16000 pixel by 12000 pixel Affinity Photo document.

It was going to be bigger. My original plan was closer to 30K by 15K pixels, featured two sets of stairs, and… it broke. I had so many layers and so much going on that my document screamed for help. Probably spent the better part of a month trying to solve or avoid the problem before settling on scaling back.

What you see above is a shrunken version, but the idea is I can take chunks of it as need be and have hi-res sections of it at my disposal for whatever I need. And as you’ll see now, it works good. Too good.

It works so good I want more. I want to figure out how to do the other parts of a wrestling crowd - mainly the sides and he people facing the ring on the hard cam side. Which means digging all the Normies out from the bins they got re-relegated to after the first shots were done in June. That’s gonnna take a while.
