These are better.So having made clear my issues with Captain Cold and Flash’s weird-ass torsos, we turn to Toyman and Superman. Toyman at least has an excuse for bad shoulder movement, with his flaring collar thingy. And since Superman is likely a redo of the Batman ‘66 Superman with a new head, it has regular shoulders. Huzah!
They also have great accessories in addition to their communicators. Toyman has a Superman doll (pictured) and Superman has a Kryptonite ball and chain (not pictured). Always a nice touch, as is Superman’s cloth cape.
Posing these are still a goddamned nightmare unless you want them standing normal-like. Toyman needed some propping under the knees and leaning WAY back to get him to stay vertical while kneeling. Plus I kinda wanted him kissing the Superman doll and the arms were in no way going to let that happen.
But that’s the whole deal with the Retro figs and I’m hooked on them so what are you gonna do?
