THAT”S WHAT LUCAS CALLED IT I’M JUST RESPECTING THE CANON.As I’ve mentioned before, Times Of Discounts are a big opportunity for me to fill in Original Trilogy and other holes in the Black Series collection with characters or figures of characters that are not precisely top tier.
I mean, Figrin D’an ain’t bad, and the idea of one fancy Deluxe figure with the big instruments and one cheaper figure (Figrin) with the smaller instruments so you could army-build a Cantina Band if you wanted isn’t a bad one, but for fuck’s sake, Hasbro, you gotta give woodwind players better arm joints. Butterfly shoulder and/or double-elbows, not this hinge and swivel bullshit.
Not to mention what the lack of double knees did for that electric guitar pose I wanted. Come on.
So, yeah. Figrin is that basic mid-grade Black Series figure that looks like the character and has appropriate accessories, but also falls short of what a figure of the characer could or should be.
As for the pic, I painstakingly removed two thirds of the lightbulbs from the All That Jazz logo to accurately represent the Modal Nodes’ musical genre as per George Lucas himself and FOR NO OTHER REASON. The guitars are from Spider-Punk (front) and Super Action Stuff arcade machine packs (back), the background is from Star Wars Outlaws, and I tried to match the window haze over the figures but I’m not sure anyone can tell.
