Coming up with a pic for this figure was a pain in the ass.I liked The Acolyte. Thought it was a solid 7 - would have been higher but I didn’t feel like it stuck the landing. Most of the Black Series figures from the show were… uninspiring. Because they were mostly Jedi. And Black Series Mostly Jedi are just slightly differently sized bodies with a unique head and a lightsaber.
But this Osha? They put the WORK in on this figure. Tons of little details and fiddly bits and paint hits. There’s a lot going on here to recreate this outfit, and it shows. As with most Black Series figs with clothes like this, the articulation is basic - single elbows, single knees - but at least they go all the way and work well considering.
But man, the pic. See, the thing about this version of Osha is, what did she do? Mostly chased her sister, at least in my memory. And without clear actions, there’s nothing to make a pic out of. Especially when there aren’t any clear backgrounds either.
I did a BUNCH of clip-hunting from various scenes, like the prison ship escape, and every single frame I pulled was dark, murky, blurry, or, usually, all three. It sucked. I don’t know if it was the cinematography choices, maybe it’s bad clips, I don’t know, but NOTHING was working. She has her droid in welding version and a pistol and her droid in pocket form so she should be using her tool on something. A door? Couldn’t find a good door.
So I decided she should fix a game. See, wordplay!
Found this slightly odd but very sharp version of the Monster Chess table from a Disney site somewhere. Added Osha, the sparks, the blue lighting, and then went into a version of A New Hope I have kicking around, grabbed a screen or two of the chess monsters, and pulled them to drop in here. I think it works pretty good.
