SDCC FOR ME: Jazwares Swerve Strickland

Oh, this gear. Oh, this moment. Oh, this champ.Been a Swerve Strickland fan going all the way back to his days of Killshot in Lucha Underground, and in 2024, when he became the first (and only, still?) Black AEW Men’s World Champion, it was glorious. Even if I think we all knew it was gonna go down like that, when he came out in the Black Panther inspired entrance gear and got the Embassy robe from Nana? That sealed the deal.

Which is why I was very glad that Jazwares threw the Comic-Con exclusive version of this look up on the Vault a week after the show. It wasn’t an immediate sell-out like [REDACTED], but it has sold out in the week since it went up so I’m glad I jumped on it right away. It’s a 10/10 on the Jazwares Effort Scale and the only thing holding it back from being a perfect fig overall is the damn Jazwares base body.

Guys, please. Update the hips. Gimme drop-downs. At the very least get me to ninety degrees forward, but goddamn do the hips hinder posing. Note the utter failure of a ramp crouch in the above pic.

But other than that, he has a fully printed soft goods long sleeve shirt, a fully printed soft goods robe, regular hands, fist hands, and new sculpt/paint masked head and claw glove hands. All for a very reasonable $40 that only becomes unreasonable because the Vault hits you hard on the shipping.

So it seems like, end of the day, I’m gonna have three Swerves - the original release, this one, and the upcoming Swerve/Nana 2-pack, but that’s fine. Give me an updated Hangman Adam Page so I can have three of each.
