So, yeah, I guess I’m doing this.
I checked. Made a list. Looks like I’m at 23 out of 54 members of the Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 roster in my action figure collections in looks that are close to their game looks. I have three more on preorder. So I decided, after originally thinking I didn’t need them, to get this two-pack, then argue with a certain blue-coded retailer about whether or not they’d charge and ship my preorder, then just buy it when it was in stock online and cancel my preorder. The HasBlue combo has been shitting all over collectores during the last two weeks of August to one degree or another, so yay.
Anyway, the figures are fine. They’ve got that “old-as figure rereleaase” thing going on, with some wonky articulation (like hinge and swivel elbows on War Machine) and some new armor overlays and new paint, but I was expecting that.
They both come with extra hands. Red comes with his ropes, Rhodey comes with a blast effect that fits in his shoulder cannon and a missile that fits NOWHERE. It’ll fit on a Headpool-style Marvel Legends effect stand but one is not included and also height-wise it’s kind of like War Machine is shooting it out of his crotch, which is not canon OR cannon.
So, yeah. Hasbro doing it’s “B effort but you want the character” thing and yes, I was there for it.
