So, is this Threedyk or Sixdyk?
What is, honestly, likely my last hurrah with McFarlane Toys 7” figures for the foreseeable future continues with Robot #4 from the new Superman movie.I loved the new Superman movie, but the “good” Supes figure McFarlane made is troublingly overpriced and also the suit textures don’t really look good at the figure scale. So hard pass.
But Robot #4 is an amazing design, and, to be perfectly honest, McF did a great job of translating it to action figure form. Do I have big quibbles? Yes, I do. But thats mainly in the price per gram of plastic department. The accessories are two hands, and four faceplates. The faceplates? Four different eye openings. All the way open, mostly open, mostly closed, all the way closed. McFarlane is the best at answering the question “what should this toy come with” in a way no fan or joy-loving person would.
But the articulation is decent, and since he’s a robot, he doesn’t even suffer from Multiverse Weird Hip Syndrome. And the cape is phenomenal, with thick, sturdy wires that stay put where they’re bent, so as a toy, I’m happier with him than with Kite Man. But I’d have been even happier at the $30 he’s worth.
