I do wonder if I could have managed the stretched fabric.
We continue our journey through the Marvel Legends Across The Spider-Verse Wave 2 by jumping to the end of Into the Spider-Verse to take a look at Spider-Man (Miles Morales) in his first-movie costume.
Full disclosure, and my biggest nitpick with this and literally every single Miles Morales figure Hasbro has put out - too much texture on the costume, not NEARLY enough contrast on the logo. So I tweaked the ever-loving shit out of it in post. You can see the actual red on the shoulders, but the costume texture really just eats the red of the logo for lunch.
Other than that, it’s a proper Spider-Verse Miles Morales, even if it appears to use a lot from the last two Miles figures - human head, masked head, proportions, etc. As with most Spidey it should come with more hands, as with most Spideys I can find a matching hand in the hands bag.But if I’m gonna have one full-costume Miles, it’s the graffiti logo I want, and the graffiti logo I got, so I’m happy.
For the pic, I did this as one shot thanks to more Green Lego Brick Structure, and I kind of wish I hadn’t, or planned the two-person pic with the stratched-out fabric from the original shot in mind, because in retrospect, I bet I could have done that in post. But digitally separating the two figures was more work than I was willing to do, so it kind of looks like he’s punching Pete into the abyss instead of dangling him above it for a touching goodbye.
The Pete is the Spider-Pine body with the fully unmasked head from the Stilt-Man wave Peter B. Parker. After I post this, I may well go looking at the Peter B. from Wave 1, see if the suit is significantly different from Spider-Pine, and/or see if he’s available cheap.
