I don’t know why this was on the shelf. Don’t need to know why but I have a weird thing where I want to know the inner workings and mechanics of a hobby and understand the systems around it despite their irrelevance.‘Cause my initial assumption when I bought it from Local Retailer for a very reasonable, atypical NECA price is that some nerd collector returned it after an unspecified time trying to flip it, or, less likely but still possible, it had gotten lost In The Back. The price scan seemed to support this.
But then an online shop put up preorders for a ton of NECA TMNT stuff that look like reissues and this was one of them and they all have the very reasonable non-NECA price so who the fuck knows?
Point is, a Foot Soldier was kind fo the last significant TMNT item on my list, just waiting for a chance at a good one, and this is a good one that’s compatible with the rest of my TMNT figs in look, so I grabbed him, and by NECA standards he’s outstanding. Moves pretty well for a NECA, and while I only used three of his accessories in the pic (hat, gun, gun holding hand) the has so much more. Multiple swords, multiple guns, ten extra hands total, a fan, throwing stars, an alternate head, an alternate face.. it’s so much stuff I’m probably forgetting some of it. There’s a cylinder of some kind. It’s a ton of stuff.
Anyway, the pic is pretty standard “show him off in a fight” stuff but it’s notable for the fact that while setting this up it refused to stay together and upright and while taking it down it fought against me trying to knock it down and take it apart every step of the way.
