If you want to know how such a fuckup can happen, in this case I was trying to get rid of background bleed around the fringe and doing it using color select, which was picking up similar colors in the arm and shoulder and cape and deleting those too, but since I was zoomed in hella far on the fringe to see what it was doing I didn’t see what else it did and also missed it when I zoomed out because blind. And I’d already done what small amount of work I needed to do (blue glow from fireball) in that part of the body so I never saw it.
