Up to 31 / 33 / 35 /37 depending on how you count. The Marvel Vs. Caapcom 2 subcollection continues! Gamerverse Juggernaut was a preorder and intentional buy. Marrow was a “throw it in the box” grab since Big Bad still had some and I’d passed on the entire wave originally (before collecting MvC2 as a thing).
Marrow is Meets Expectations Marvel Legends. Two grip hands, two fist hands, two bone daggers, sculpt, paint, articulation, you know the deal.
Juggernaut is a weird mix of impressive and disappointing. He’s definitely been re-engineered. Here are some comparison shots with the Marvel Select Juggernaut for size, crunch and elbow, and hips
I was very much hoping they’d work some magic on the elbow and knee joints, but no luck. Single hinge and swivel, less than 90 degrees. I know the Select isn’t a Hasbro but I don’t have an old Juggernaut to compare to so I don’t know if this is better.
That said, there’s an insane amount of extra hip and ankle movement, which is excellent, and big butterfly shoulders which also helps a lot with posing.
He doesn’t have a removable helmet, which seems like easy engineering and a missed opportunity. He comes with grab hands, fists, and one giant effects piece for the fist. He was also pretty expensive. I get he’s a lot of plastic but he doesn’t feel like the best value.
But anyway, I have 31 MvC2 characters in my hands and in essentially their game looks I have two characters in suboptimal versions (movie Colossus, Toy Biz 5” Strider), and four on preorder (Cable, Akuma, Dan, Charlie). Storm Arena should be putting out Morrigan and Felicia, and we’ll see what the toy world brings us going forward.
