Just chillin’.In much the way Hasbro December preorders like Dr. Doom arrived in October, January preorders like the Secret Wars Iceman are showing up in November. But hey, new Iceman!
The only Iceman I had previously is the Amazing Friends 3-pack one, who’s just barely Meeting Expectations. The new one is CLEAR. Which I approve of. And he comes with a snowball! Which I also approve of. And NEW ICE BLASTS! Which I… mostly approve of.
The ice blasts themselves are great. The engineering on them… feels like Hasbro said “fuck it, we want to go to lunch, throw a wrist clip on the thing, it’s two for one margs at Chilis.”
When the blasts are meant to be creating his ice sled, pointing down from his palms, they sort of work? They’re gappy at the palms and wobble around but they do the thing. Any other pose, like, say, freezing a frosty frappuccino in Captain Cold’s hand? Well, then, it’s time for poster tac and a support stand. The choice they went with has limited functionality and needs a lot of help, and while I do appreciate they didn’t just make a tube to shove his arm in, since that’s not really accurate to Bobby, I do think there had to have been a better way.
Anyway, the pic is classic Collection Connection, getting out all the cold guys for a hang in an ice cave.
