KAMEHAMEHA!Funny how things work out. I went down a brief rabbit hole like a week and a half ago. Basically, it was “If I wanted to add a Goku to my collection, not because I love Dragonball Z (I don’t) but because he’s a pop culture icon I can have fun with, which one would I get?
And I settled on the most recent SH Figuarts non-Saiyan Goku, because he has two hair pieces and vastly improved articulation in the hips and shoulders. And he was reasonably priced - in the $35 range in a wold where import Figuarts now cost $100, pricing me out of them.
And then Best Buy sent me a $10 “come back to us” coupon and put this Goku on sale for $30 so I got him for $20, which is nice because then I won’t feel bad if they ever make the one in the slightly more iconic outfit with the kanji on the front and back and I feel the need to upgrade.
Anyway, he’s very nice! Four faces, eight or nine hands, two skirts, two hairs. And those buttery smooth import style no detent joints that are such a joy to pose even if they’ll probably go to shit after a couple years in the bin.
No effects pieces or weapons but hey, I’ve GOT effects pieces. I didn’t buy up the entire-ass Jada Toys Street Fighter II line to NOT have effects pieces. This is all the ones that are projectiles. And I think Mega Man’s blast is in here too.
