I love an elaborate fantasy fight almost as much as I love a goof-em-up.The April Pile of Loot arrived on the last day of April, and this was the one impulse buy of the Impulsse List that i tossed in before shipping - both to try out a new figure from a new to me company and also to bolster the fantasy ranks with a lizard dude.
My first impressions of this guy were good but not great. The articulation seemed… surprisingly limitedd in places while exceptional in others. The ball chest and waist make for amazing twist and bend, the neck’s got good movement, the hips aren’t bad, but the elbows, shoulders, and knees were stiff as all fuck.
So I did a little poking around and learned I needed to get out the hair dryer. Which I knew iI needed because the right knee was frozen, but turns out they’re BOTH double knees that go most of the way back but needed heat to get going. Even now, after heating it up and working it a bit, the detents are SO heavy that it needs a lot of effort to get it around.
The elbows still only go to 90, but after removing the somewhat restrictive upper arm / shoulder armor (to also reveal more of that glorious green scaly skin), and working the butterfly a bit, the arms overall became way more expressive.
Anyway, I dug out some Legions and dressed ‘em up for getting merced by a lizard. Poor Gideon Heavensbrand, just leaking guts all over the trail. If only he had backup, WHICH HE WOULD HAVE IF OTHO HAD SHIPPED ANYWHERE NEAR ON TIME. But I’m not bitter.
