Werewolf with a jetpack. I know, it’s serious.This is a weird one because he’s very cool but also less exciting than I thought he was when I preordered hinm so there’s a smidge of a letdown?
The letdown comes from his striking similarities to the Operation Monster Force Aerial Assault Sleepwalker, who I got after I preordered this but before I got it. And was slightly cheaper. But it’s a brown werewolf in black and this is a white werewolf in red, which is nicer.
He comes with a bunch of stuff - jetpack, machine gun, knife, full helmet head, extra werewolf hands, extra human gloved hands, two hoses, various plugins for the wrist gauntlets, blast effects, hoses, the gamut. The only reall issue I have is how these are mostly “or” accessories rather than “and” accessories.
Take the two hoses. There are two hose ports in the jetpack and one hose port in the back of the “human” head and that’s it. You can’t hook two hoses to this dude. As a werewolf you can’t hook any. I know these lines are built on mix and match and there are plenty of other accessories in my collection I could dig out if I wanted him to be a hosebeast but I do kind of like the fig to be a self-contained unit.
Similarly there are a bunch of tiny bits and bobs you can use to customize the wrist gauntlets - no weapons, non-firing mini-rocket launcher, firing mini rocket launcher, regular gun. There were supposed to be two blast effects with the rockets so I’m hoping the other one turns up as I work though the many accessory bags I haven’t fully explored since the big opening of packages.
I’ve also got a bit of Jacket With Strap fatigue going on right now - not a big deal but I do feel like I have enough red and black and human and werewolf sort of German outfit dudes right now between the various dudes I’ve bought in the last year. I’m looking forward to the next batch of Monster Force stuff to maybe mix things up a little.
That said the white werewolf parts are VERY striking and I like them quite a bit and everything else is to the usual BBWS standard of quality. Oh, wait, one more thing. If they’re gonna keep giving us jetpacks, great, but let’s get some bigger, better, jet blast effect pieces for them. And some two-jet jetpacks like a steampunk verson of a GI Joe one.
For the pic I reused a set I’d built for The Eraser because honestly I don’t have a rich panoply of OMF-appropriate backdrops and I’ve had to build a ton of them out of pieces parts and effects and I should get more use out of them for the effort I put in.
