SURPRISE WET BOY!When I made the decision to go all (most, really) in on Wet Boys, or, as normal people call them, divers and scuba dudes from the GI Joe Classified line, I did what I thought was my due diligence. Found out all the divers, decided I would only get the Retro card Cobra Eel (still pending) and not the early Classified version, and decided it boiled down to Retro Eel, Torpedo, and the preordered Hydro Viper and I was done.
Then I saw Wet Suit just sitting there on a store shelf, mocking me. He was apparently part of the Sci Fi wave, and I’d passed on him during my I Only Need Two Divers And I Got Em phase, then missed him when compiling a list of Wet Boys. So of course I grabbed him.
He’s fun! I mean, Wet Boys are like Taco Bell menu items - the’re slight recombinations of existing items and elements with a slightly different sauce, but given that, the light blue and the bright yellows are fun.
Of course, since no Classified figure can be perfect, he comes with a three-engine propeller glider grabbing thing and apparently is supposed to grab it by the soft rectangle of yellow plastic that connects each of the outer pods to the larger central pods and no that shit does not work at all and yes they should have put a goddamned handle on it.
Anyway, Wet Boys love a little pool time. Also notable because I finally figured out an acceptable-to-me way of doing an underwater distortion effect. Probably not workable for every pic but for this one I really like it.
