So, the decision-making proccess on “which Spidey villains do I need” is complicated.I mean, any classic villain from the comics up through the cartoon is fair game. For older or newer villains, it’s based almost exclusively on look. I mean, there aren’t a LOT of older villains that I don’t know about, but from the late 90’s on, it’s mostly vibes. So I got Jack O’ Lantern (a very m odern look, at least) but skipped Hallow’s Eve and the recent Cardiac.
Hyno-Hustler is that rare pre-90’s villain I did not know about, but obviously I needed him. The vibes are impeccable. Big hair, white suit, guitar, big late 70’s early 80’s vibe, not strictly racist on the face of it but certainly reflective of the limited options and cultural appropriation that made up characters of color in the era. Irresistible.
I especially like that he comes with two foot effects and feet with holes for them. We’ve seen these blasts and smokes before with Black Widows but not for plugging into toes.The guitar is from Spider-Punk so now I have three of those.
I freely admit that this is a low effort gotchapic. Partly because there isn’t a single nightclub or disco in the entire animated 90’s Spidey series so I pulled a Jem background and then kinda botched the scaling.
