I don’t get many opportunities to be crotchety and retrograde. Give me this one.Is Hammerhead the name on the package? No. Does “Hammerhead” sound a bit like a speciesist slur? Yes. Will I ever, EVER refer to him by the official canon name of “Momaw Nadon”? Nooooope. This is as close to as I get to that white guy “what do they want me to call ‘em NOW” reactionary bullshit. He’s Hammerhead.
And, being Hammerhead, he gets to share the stage with Hammerhead, both holding hammers, because it’s 2026 and if you want subtlety you’re in the wrong fuckin’ place.
The figure is fine. I mean, there’s a reason I didn’t get him at the full Deluxe price point, with his Just Fine mobility and his bullshit reuse accessories (a Stormtrooper’s rifle and Bib Fortuna’s three cups) but at like $15 he’s a perfectly acceptable addition to the Original Trilogy collection. I will say he moves better than he woulda if Hasbro had put him out 18 months ago - the new engineering they’re doing on Black Series is fine work.
