FIG PHOTO: Vacation Enhanced: Megazord In Shinjuku

Been hodin’ on to this one for about a month. To be clear. I don’t NEED to have a new picture every day. But I like to. It’s not an obligation, it’s a motivation. Usually.

Anyway, been kind of busy, needed to get some other stuff done, and haven’t had the time to/ wherewithal to poke at Affinity, and I was skating close to the line as it is - I finished The Eraser like two hours before I posted it.

But I do have one Vacation Enhanced I’ve been hanging on to for just such an occasion.

My time in Shinjuku was mostly spent figuring out how to navigate it. But once I’d found, with a great deal of struggle, the fabric store, the toy store, the OTHER tpart of the toy store where the good toys were, and the yakitori restaurant on the fourth damn floor, I got to relax, and look, and take in the neighborhood, and get  afew empty-space pics to use later. Like this one.

This is the Zord Ascension Project Megazord, at the time and possibly still the most expensive single toy I’ve ever bought, and also high up on the most disappointing. I don’t know if Hasbro tried too hard or were trying to keep it affordable or what but the level of jank in it is very disappointing. The funny thing is, I bet, with the experience they’ve gained through lots of big boy Haslabs and Made To Orders that they could absolutely kill it in 2025 if they hadn’t given up the license.
