* (Technically, Romulus).First and formost, holy shit, practical lighting victory. I’ve been playing around with more practical/colored lighting since I got an LED light panel that can do that sort of thing and it’s been a very mixed bag. Usually I still need to do a lot of post-production adjustment to bridge the gap between the shot I got and the look I want.
But not this time.
Literally ALL I did with this pic: Clean up the cutout edges. Place and size. Move the sparks to the foreground. Add a bit of extra smoke to the foreground. Didn’t touch any of the various brightness and color adjustments I usually use because I liked it immediately.
The fig is my first Xenomorph. It’s technically the NECA Alphabet Soup From Romulus, but the differences between this, Alien the Alien from Alien, and Alien the Alien from Aliens are minor and nitpicky. This is the one NECA was selling, this is the one that has really good joints and a bunch of hands, so as far as I’m concerned, it’s The Xenomorph.
The plan was to get it on sale but it ended up being one of those sales that magically vanishes at the register, leaving you with the choice of leaving it behind, arguing, or spending a $6 surcharge to just get on with your life and come home with the toy, and while I usually don’t choose door #3, this time I couldn’t be bothered.
