So I’m actually in a bit of a lull.As I post this, I’m toward the end of a week and a half long break from hobbying, fueled by one, getting through and shooting all the new shit I got in and around the Late August Pile of Loot, and two, finally getting around to and completing or partially completeing some of my big project ideas, like Street Fighter Red Tape and using my Japan backgrounds.
So I’m a little short of ideas with which to ply my craft. But then a Bluesky toy bud mentioned that this month of daily prompts art thing might be good for toy photos, and he wasn’t wrong, although I have no plans to do all of them. Gonna pick and choose for the ones that spark a good (read: dumb) idea.
Septmber 2 was “Hulk Team Up”, and so I thought I’d revisit an early 2023 pairing, the Marvel Legends 20th Anniversary Hulk, and the SH Figuarts MCU Loki. And when you think of Hulk and MCU Loki, you think of one thing. And so I took that one thing and decided it could be used as an offensive (in every sense of the word) team-up move against Gamerverse Thanos.
Then it was just attempting to apply the skills I’ve been working on to get more reps in. Colored lighting. Tone and texture matching with the background. I really need to find more ways to put background elements in front of the figs because that helps so much with that “pasted in” look, but so few bacgrounds are conducive.
