COMPLETE (AGAIN): Famous Covers Psylocke!

Don’t talk to me or my daughter ever again!OK, this is a whole-ass thing, so bear with me.

Famous Covers was a Toy Biz line from the late 90’s of 9” dolls with cloth costumes and real hair that I was SUPER into at the time and still love to this day. I got, for all practical intents and purposes, all of them.

A few years ago, I was watching Ethan Page and Danhausen visit a local comic shop on YouTube and saw they had a Famous Covers Red Skull.  I did not have a Famous covers Red Skull because it was a Previews exclusive and in the late 90’s, you couldn’t just get shit sent to you. So I went to the toy store and sure enough he was still there and sure enough I got him.

And that made me realize that my collection was complete except for the horrifying mail-away Aunt May which I had skipped at the time because she was horrifying but she was cheap on eBay and horrifying was more fun so I got one.

Cut to early this week and I decide to start taking b asic pics of my entire Famous Co ers and equivalent collection - an assortment of 8” dolls with cloth costumes and a few Mego reissues from that time because everybody was doing this style for some reason. And, for the sake of completeness, I once again went back to a checklist. And realized I never had a Psylocke. Or maybe I did and she vanished or maybe I did anshe’s in the house somewhere but everyone else was together and there was no Psylocke. So I went to eBay. And got fucked over a little.

As with any 30 year old toy, some of the cheap plastic-coated fabric on a few of my own dolls has started to disintegrate, leaving patches of white that resemble clothing mange.  So did Psylockes’  right glove. Was this pictured on the eBay listing? It was not. Was it mentioned in the eBay description? It also was not. Could I have found one without this damage if I’d known? No idea. Was I gonna make an issue out of it? Nope.

Since I’d just gotten Ninja Psylocke in Marvel Legends, I thought I’d do that internet thing for the picture because I think it’s funny.
