ROLLER BOOGIE.It’s actually a bit surprising that I didn’t have an Iron Man like this, but I’m glad I didn’t. Marvel has made a BUNCH of figures very close to this over the years, and for one reason or another I’ve passed on themn. Like I didn’t want the pointy faceplate, or I didn’t want it in hologram form, or one thing or another.
But I did want a classic yellow and red shellhead Iron Man. Because the only one I have like this is a Famous Covers. And this one fits the bill ALMOST perfectly.
Good sculpt, decent paint, lots of accessories (one gun, one hand to hold the gun, two repulsor blasts, two repulsor hands, two smoke trailes, Lenticular Shield of Vague Ambivalence) and even if it’s mostly or all re-use, it’s still good value for money.
And he comes with roller skates, which was a real Iron Man thing in the I guess 70’s/80’s so that made the pic choice obvious.
The only thing he’s missing is an 80’s cartoony Tony Stark head, which I would love to get. I might have to keep an eye out for a good clearance price on the gold Mark 1 from the retro card wave a few months ago - that’s got the kind of head I’d want for this Iron Man and it’s a figure / fig type I don’t technically have.
