Technically, this is about Miguel and LYLA, who’s a Gwen accessory, but who’s counting?It’s interesting to me that the Across The Spicer-Verse Spider-Man 2099 figure gets right the one thing the Miles figure gets wrong. It’s the same bright, high-contrast, smooth-texture look from the movie.
As far as I can tell, this is just a reissue of the first series one I never got, only with an unmasked MIguel head. So it’s good. I mean, it’s what it needs to be, at least. Fists and claw hands and two heads. Hasbro ain’t going all out here but they’re not being skimpy like Wave 1 either. Kind of a theme.
Shot here with Spider-Woman, Scarlet Spider (not technically a Spider-Verse movie figure but I count him as Close Enough since he intentionally hews to the comic design), oh, and LYLA, who comes somewhat inexplicably with Purple Gwen who you’ll see tomorrow. I mean, I’m sure it’s some Hasbro math about cost and weight or some shit.
Quick update from yesterday - I did take a closer look at the Wave 1 Peter B and he’s Spider-top, sweats-bottom, which I’m not sure really matches any specific look from either movie? I’d have to do some checking to be sure but it DEFINITELY isn’t what he’s wearing in the shot I made yesterday so that figure would not have helped me.
