ROBOT FIGHT!
Remember, a couple days ago, when I was talking about Black Krssanthan, Hasbro’s “deluxe” price point, and how a sale can really change how I feel about picking up a figure?
Well, I got IG-12/Grogu for like 40% off or something at Target.
Now, keep in mind, what I -really- want and need is an IG-88, and I hope this figure leads to a new one. I’m told the old one is scaled small and this one is scaled right and if they basically replaced the torso and gave him a gun and some straps we’d be good to go.
In the meantime, I’ve got everyone’s favorite child soldier, Grogu, who I was in fact missing in Black Series scale because speaking of disparity between a price point and a quantity of plastic, the history of Grogu in The Black Series is a grim one.
Anyway, not bad as Black Series robots go. I think they could have pulled off double elbows, double knees, and/or some version of a “butterfly” shoulder, especially at the original price point, but I’m no toy engineer so what do I know? Looks good, Grogu fits nicely in the cockpit, and it comes with a coupla babufriks in figurine form. Well, the arms move. Not a real fan of the babufriks and no I’m not looking up their species name I have Shit To Do but it’s a reasonable little extra.
Had him fight the Diamond Select Maximillian because I’m old and while there wasn’t a specific “rivalry” that I remember between Star Wars and The Black Hole, it’s funny to me that Disney started trying to rip off Star Wars and now just owns it.
