Motherfuckin' Lucha Underground! ("The Hunger Inside / Bloodlines""

I MEAN COME ON!
Lucha Underground has been on fire the past two weeks. With the Cueto Cup winding up and not dominating the entire show, there's been time to pick up long-dangling plot threads and reintroduce things like Gift of the Gods medallions. But the end of Wednesday's episode demands a spoileerific scream of nerd joy.

OH MY FUCKING GLOB THE POLICE CHIEF IS CATRINA'S IMMORTAL MOTHER AND WILL RESTORE CATRINA TO FULL LIFE AND SACRIFICE HER OWN TO STOP THE GODS FROM RETURNING TO EARTH.

Which, you know, is how my favorite wrassling show ended.

We also met Lorenzo Lamas' replacement, an FBI agent named Winter who's got lots of banter and seems to put Dario Cueto on edge. They're all apparently part of The Order. And Cueto is not as high up in it or as involved in it as we think.

We also had a couple of fantatic matches. My Final Four predictions are coming true, with Pentagon, Puma, and Mil Muertes all advancing. The latter two were in a couple of amazing matches - Puma defeated Dante Fox in a match paced faster and more intensely than anything I've seen to date, and Mil over Jeremiah Crane in a standard Lucha Underground Hardcore Match turned up to 11 on the intensity.

The first three Gift of the Gods medallions went to the Rabbit Tribe, who beat Worldwide Underground.

Basically, the show remembered all the things I like about it besides the wrestling, and brought it all back, in spades.
