So, back at the last AEW PPV, Wrestledream, during the pre-show, Rico came out with MxM Collective to help them against The Acclaimed.
And I was like, “wait, don’t I still have a Rico figure from back in the day?” And I did. And I got him out along with another pile of figures, fully intending to set up the big photo box and the wrestling ring and take some pics.
And then the cats passed a cold between them. For a month.
So last weekend I finally got the ring set up and took a ton of pics, including another long-overdue series of shots for a planned expansion of The Crowd. A tiny bit of which you can see here on the right.
This shot was a ridiculous amount of work for a reference to a minor appearance by an old minor wrestler who I happened to have an old figure of, to be honest. I’m learning new techniques for faster background removal in Affinity, and while it is working better, it’s slow going. Plus I had to add the Wrestledream aprons.
I am happy with my new real ring mat, just a textured cheap sheet of plastic I got from Ringside, but it’s way better than what I’ve been doing digitally. I need to cut it down to the size of the photo box, by which I mean have my partner who can do that kind of thing do it for me. But it makes a big difference.
