Mae Young Classic: "Episodes 7/8"

Not what I wanted, not how I wanted it.
The quarterfinals and semifinals of the Mae Young Classic filled the last two episodes, and to be honest, none of the matches were particularly great, with the possible exception of Niven vs. Storm, and none of the people I wanted to win won, except for Kairi Sane.

We're left with a final of Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler, which means two more posts of remembering how to spell her last name. They gave Baszler a sort of Pete Dunne In The UK Tourney heel thing where she refused to release her grapevine choke hold finisher on Candace LaRae.

Clearly it's all about the fame and publicity and Ronda Rousey, which is a shame, because there are a lot more talented women in the tourney than Baszler. If we're telling the story of the tournament, Sane should win the final, but with the strong rumor that the winner will be the new NXT Women's Champion, I don't see them (a) transitioning from Asuka to Sane, and (b) the top challengers on NXT for the title (Moon and Riot) are both faces. So if it's for the belt, expect Baszler to win and me to be mad.
