I’m feeling kinda done with DC Multiverse.I have a couple dozen of the things, which, by the standards of other lines I’ve been collecting for years, is microscopic. I love very few of them. Most of them I got either on clearance or because I really want the character. THe engineering is consistently clunky, the character choices are odd, and when they do make a good version of a character it often sells out immediately.
Add in their increasing ‘90’s comic “chase versions” “platinum editions” mentality and other bullshit, and I’m honestly just tempted to wait and see what Mattel does with the license in a year ot two (assuming society doesn’t collapse first, of course).
That said, that doesn’t mean I won’t jump at a favorite character/look when it hits, say, half price or thereabouts. Like this Orion that I think came out less than a month ago. I like Orion from the Justice League cartoon days, this is that look with his flight harness and all, and it was cheap. So he goes into the collection. And he’s like every other McFarlane figure - weirdly clunky versions of standard articulation, no accessories other than the harness… fine, I guess, but kinda joyless.
Unless you have hin go shopping for belts because you’re a dumdum that likes dumdum jokes. Then you make joy where none existed.
