This was the other must-buy from the most recent Spider-Man retro card wave, for two reasons. One, it’s a variant of a classic villain, and while I still do want a traditional Electro, the Francine Frye version looks classic enough to work, and looks great. Second, she comes with new electrical effects, which are fussy to get on and stable but look great when you do.
So I immediately obscured them with a bunch of digital lightning, because a few months ago I splurged on a big lightning effects pack for Affinity Photo thinking I’d use them constantly and haven’t had a use for it yet.
Anyway, the fig is pretty standard Mrvel Legends engineering, with one of the more updated female bodies, a pair of fists I ill never use, a great head sculpt, great paint, and of course those lightning crackles. I’m glad they made her because they re-used the lightning crackles for the Jamie Foxx Electro figure they just came out with, and as much as I love No Way Home, that suit is utter ass.
In fact, I haven’t gotten a single No Way Home Marvel Legends villain, because every one of them is worse than their comic/cartoon design, and I have 3/5 of them in comic cartoon designs. I wouldn’t be UNtempted by an Alfred Molina Ock on sale, but Lizard, Sandman, Goblin, and Electro are all unpleasant to varying degrees and in that order.
So, yeah. Did a pretty standard pic here, pulling a lab from the Spidey cartoon. Took advantage of one of my relatively new Mezco 1/12 Collective style stands I bought after loving the Ultraman one to securely get Spidey above Electro (this is a single shot) without screaming angrily at my cheap shitty stands.
