See, it’s like he’s gonna poop on her car.We’re in a lull now. It doesn’t seem like it because there’s a lag between me getting stuff and posting about stuff, but with the last big pile of loot for a while done, and the fancy impulse buys out of the way, it’s just waiting for pre-orders and picking up the odd bit of clearance. For example, Raptor!
I’m a sucker for a figure with wings. Always have been. For decades. But I wasn’t gonna pay Deluxe Joe price for an obscure character I don’t know from the cartoon. I absolutely would have paid Regular Joe prices, and thanks to clearance, I did.
And these are some good wings. They’re almost as good as the Captain America wings I got a while back that were in fact worth deluxe fig prices (partly because Captain America). They have a few fold points and a rotate point and can get into a bunch of positions behind or in front of him.
Accessories are a mixed bag. The bird is great and also Another Classified Animal. The bird hood for him is a hoot. He also has a generic pistol and knife. And then the talon claws, which are… OK? I don’t love them, mainly because I can’t get him to hold them straight like Wolverine claws. They push in at an awkward angle.
Other than that, he’s a little drab in terms of the outfit / paint job. Could be more bird. It’s not so noticeable when you put all his stuff on, but here’s a plain pic of him because I needed to do a thing.
Kin d of like Zandar, waist-up, he’s interesting and unique, with the bird shoulders and the tats and the face thing and even the belt buckle. Waist down, though, he’s Just A Dude.
Still a great buy on clearance though.
