Weekly Wrasslin’ Wroundup (GRAPPLING HOOK)

Surprisingly dull week given that we’re building up to a Takeover and a Royal Rumble. EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE:

GRAPPLING HOOK! Braun Strwoman used a FUCKING GRAPPLING HOOK on LIVE TV and hooked a GIANT SCAFFOLD on his FIRST TRY and pulled it down ON TOP OF KANE AND BROCK LESNAR. I mean, come on. Also, if you’re wondering why WWE would keep a grappling hook in a WWE equipment case, FUCK YOU THAT’S WHY. That’s pro wrestling at it’s best.

Setting Up The Chase For Cedric Alexander

Enzo faked an ankle injury and got counted out to escape an otherwise totally dominant Cedric Alexander in their flu-delayed Cruiserweight title match on Raw. This is probably their best bet to generate any kind of interest or heat around Alexander, who’s a great worker but hasn’t been given a chance to really stand out or develop a character beyond Good Wrestling Guy. Have Enzo screw him out of the title in every way possible for a while so that when he finally wins it’ll feel like a big deal. And for fuck’s sake, give him some mic time not talking to other Cruisers.

Baeszler Makes Her Mark

Debuting and doing a vicious-looking stomp on Dakota Kai, “breaking” her “arm”. As an unstoppable monster with no fucks, she’ll make an interesting foil in NXT.

Matches Get Made

For example, GaBenjamin, who are full heels now, get the Usos in a 2/3 falls title match, while on NXT, Adam Cole will face Aleister Black in an Extreme Rules match, fallout from the excellent tag match between the Undisputed Era and Strong/Black this week. Shame their tag team isn’t permanent - they could call themselves Coffee.

It’s Mojo Losing To Roode

As expected, Rawley beat Zack Ryder to advance in the US Title Tournament where he’ll lose to Bobby Roode around the same time Xavier Woods loses to Jinder Mahal.

The Miz Is Back

And he has a title rematch against Roman Reigns at the big Raw 25th Anniversary show in two weeks.
