PREDICTIONS: Clash Of Champions 2017

Truly, the champions shall clash.
This is how WWE closes out the year. A Smackdown exclusive PPV where once again the most important person on the card is fuckin’ Shane. Oh well.

Zack Ryder vs. Mojo Rawley (Kickoff Show)

There’s been no build since their breakup, so either they’re going to elevate Mojo Rawley, in which case Mojo will win, or they’re not, which means that Mojo will win to continue the story. Mojo wins.

The Bludgeon Brothers vs. Breezango

Unfortunately, the Bludgeon Brothers have to win this, and win this dominantly.

Baron Corbin (c) vs. Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler (US Championship)

OK. It’s not going on Ziggler. We all know that. The question is, is it time to put the belt on Bobby Roode? I think it is, but I don’t like Baron Corbin much and I do like Roode quite a bit. What will WWE do? My gut tells me they’ll keep the belt on Crobin, but I’m not confident at all.

Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Natalya (Women’s Championship, Lumberjack)

I’m sorry, Natty, but there’s no way they’re taking the belt off Charlotte yet, and whoever does take it off her isn’t going to be you. Probably Ruby Riott sometime next year. Charlotte retains.

The Usos (c) vs. The New Day vs. Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable vs. Rusev & Aiden English (Tag Championship, Fatal Four-Way)

This one’s tricky. Rusev and English could use the belts the most. Gable and Benjamen are “next in line” as it were. New Day winning would just further more New Day / Usos and they said that was over and they lied. Usos retaining is the most likely outcome, because it’s the worst outcome for the tag division. I’m gonna say Usos keep the belts and feud with Gable/Benjamin some more while New Day and Rusev Day feud for a bit.

AJ Styles (c) vs. Jinder Mahal (WWE Championship)

AJ retains. The Jinder era is over, and htis is the nail in his coffin match.

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Randy Orton (Two guest referees and a firing stipulation)

The firing stipulation makes the outcome essentially a gimme. Zayn and Owens won’t lose and won’t be fired. Now, there are a lot of finishes that can do this, but  Bryan and McMahon are definitely going to mix it up and get in each other’s faces and that’s going to lead to the cheating win or the surprise rollup or some kind of mess involving disqualifications or no contests. But Orton and Nakamura definitely aren’t winning clean.
