Subcollection (effectively) complete!I’m not a Fortnite guy, but I am a Fortnite Weirdos guy. It started with Mancakes, the Pancake Cowboy, It led to the burger-headed Beef Boss, the banana centurion Potassius Peels, and giant chicken Cluck.
But I discovered the existence of Fishstick and he went on the Unlikely Want List. A 2020 Jazwares Legendary Edition, the combination of “for sale”, “with accessories”, and “at a reasonable price” was very elusive. But that’s why you save searches on eBay, and one day, a repackaged Fishstick with everything except one of three faceplates went up in the sub-$40 range and I pounced.
The Jazwares Fortnite figs are a little odd from an engineering standpoint, but mostly well-executed. He has a backpack, a fishing rod lookin’ thing, two faces, a weird wooden weapony thing, and the usual couple of Normal Weapons most Fortnite figures come with. And he looks like a weird fish!
So, GROUP SHOT! Got out the Upgrade Shark I got cheap, loaded up the squad with gear, found some splash effect PNG’s, and went to town.
Are there technically two other toys I might like for the weirdo squad? Yes. There’s a cat-headed muscle dude named Meowscles who is just barely weird enough to make the team, and there’s a seecret agent version of Peely. But they’re not essential and they’re even less likely to find cheap than Fishstick apparently wsa.
