The Jazwares Chase Chase is 67% complete! To recap. On three separate occasions Jazwares has taken a wrestler who’s never had an action figure before, taken that action figure OUT of the wave it was planned to be released in, and instead released it as a chase figure in that wave, only available maybe if you buy a full case. Usually this practice is reserved for color variants, but The Bunny, Alex Reynolds, and Brandon Cutler have all been released as chase figures only.
This is, of course, Some Bullshit. So I have dedicated myself to acquiring these three figures at a Reasonable Price, defined as $40 or less. As a general rule, all of these show up on eBay at around the $60 mark.
A couple of months ago I snagged an in-box Reynolds for just under $40. And two weeks ago, I found a loose complete Bunny for $25 shipped. I’m fine with loose and complete because that’s how it’s gonna end up anyhow. I prefer boxed just because I’m not playing Condition Roulette on eBay, but the times I’ve taken a shot on loose complete it’s worked out.
So that’s two of them! Cutler is the newest so it may be a while before enough people fail to sell him at an exorbitant price.
Let’s get the bad out of the way from the jump. The Bunny is yet another member of the Jazwares Rubber Jacket club. Which means if you want her arms to move, which I usually do for a pic, you gotta take the jacket off, which I did. It’s a very nice, accurate rubber jacket, but…
Her elbow joints are pretty gummy and required quite a bit of care to bend properly. I assume the original owner never bent them or took the jacket off. But I managed, as you can see.
Otherwise, decent figure. Not an incredible amount of effort put forth by Jazwares, which, given the character and the time it came out is not a surprise, but she has the bunny mask and a couple of extra hands, and if I’d paid $25 new for a regular release I’d have been perfectly happy with it.
