At this point, I’m doing enough moment / scene re-creations that they should be their own separate thing.
So here’s the moment from Across The Spider-Verse where we meet Scarlet Spider. Obviously I don’t have a ben Reilly head, which is a shame, but other than that and the angle of the left arm, not bad.
Wanted to share a bit of the process here and how the Green Lego Invisible Structure works in practice. The automated cutout software I use sees it as background about 75% of the time, especially if I get it lit right, and here it allowed me to naturally put the left leg behind it and the right hand in front of it to really match the look of the original.
All I needed to do in post was tweak the angle slightly to match, match the size, and fix the lighting. I didn’t match the darker cel-shading they use on SS in the movie because at least in this case I think it takes away from the idea of using the figure as is.
