Weekly Wrasslin’ Wroundup (Last week)

I’m starting to warm up to Team Kick
Hey, let’s get this posted before I start watching this week’s Raw! With Money In The Bank being positioned as on par with a Big Four PPV, apparently WWE felt th eneed to shake things up a bit afterwards. Not a lot, but some. Ergo, EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE.

BIG CASS GETS RELEASED

It’s kind of a shame. When Enzo and Cass debuted following Wrestlemania a couple years back, they were one of the hottest acts on the air. Certainly one of the best-handled NXT callups of all time. But then Enzo left in disgrace, and Cass got injured and lost all his heel heat from turning on Enzo, and was lackluster when he returned. WWE and he disagreed about how much he sucked and (If The Internet Can Be Believed) how he acted on the road, and now he’s gone too. Hart to believe that of the three of them, Carmella’s the one doing the best.

SAMI ZAYN INJURED

The bad news is that two rotator cuf surgeries means he’ll be out the rest of the year. The good news is we can all forget the Lashley stuff and he can come back fresh.

RUSEV IS AJ STYLES’ OPPONENT AT EXTREME RULES

I can’t think he’ll win, and this is just a transitional feud before Summerslam, but he won a gauntlet match to earn the spot on Smackdown this week, which is good for Rusev.

DOLPH ZIGGLER IS THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION

They took the belt off Seth. And gave it to Dolph. For some reason. Even though Dolph’s in a dominant and rising tag team right now. Rematch is next week. Whatever, WWE.

RONDA ROUSEY IS “SUSPENDED”

For 30 days, which is a good excuse to have her spend a month practicing her next match, I guess. She “snapped” and beat on Alexa Bliss and Kurt Angle with the Money In The Bank briefcase which is still around for some reason even though it got cashed in. All the briefcase shots looked awful, but at least Rousey’s been taking Angry Wrestler lessons from somebody.

SANITY DEBUTS

They brutalize the Usos before their match and then don’t have the match because the brutalizing was so brutal.

SASHA AND BAYLEY ARE FIGHTING AGAIN

In the latest attempt to reboot this feud after dragging it out and interrupting it for other more important things, they made up and broke up over the course of Raw. It’s not going well.

BONUS KUDOS

Bonus Kudos to Dakota Kai and Bianca Belair, who put on my favorite match from either of them to date as part of the “Takeover Dark Matches” episode of NXT.
