Look, I know the WWE wants to turn the “Big Four” into the “Big Five” by adding an hour to Money I The Bank, but if they want to do that, they probably shouldn’t stack the card with Backlash-level bullshit. Predictions:
PRE-SHOW:
The Bludgeon Brothers vs. The Clerb (Smacodown Tag)
Ha ha ha ha ha. Bludgeons destroy them.
Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass
There’s no way Cass comes out on top in this. Well, there is one way. WWE has to think we want to see more of Cass vs. Daniel Bryan. So really, there’s a big chance Cass could win. But I’m still picking Bryan.
Nia Jax vs. Ronda Rousey (Raw Women’s)
Ronda Rousey stood tall on Raw, and she isn’t ready to hold a belt AT ALL, so Jax retains, probably through extensive shenanigans to protect Rousey.
Carmella vs. Asuka (Smackdown Women’s)
I’ve enjoyed Carmella’s reign. But it feels like it’s about to be over. Asuka’s done what they needed and given up her streak and whould get a belt. Asuka wins and we have Asuka-Charlotte II at Summerslam.
Roman Reigns vs. Jinder Mahal
Reigns wins this bullshit match in this bullshit feud and goes on to at least make us thing he’s gonna get the belt off Lesnar at Summerslam.
Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn
Nobody’s saying it is, but if this isn’t on the pre-show I’ll eat my hat. Lashley wins quickly and let’s hope everyone involved moves on to better things.
Seth Rollins vs. Elias (Intercontinental)
I love Elias, yes I do. But nobody’s taking that belt off Rollins anytime soon. Rollins retains.
AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (Last Man Standing, WWE Championship)
I’m going to go with what should happen here, and hope that it’s also what will. Nakamura needs to win. He doesn’t need a long reign. He can put the belt back on Styles at Summerslam. But Nakamura needs the win.
Women’s Money In The Bank: Lana, Natalya, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte, Ember Moon, Becky Lynch, Naomi, and Sasha Banks
Eight people, so I’m gonna take two picks, both from Raw. Most likely? Sasha Banks. She’s been out of the spotlight and out of the title picture for about as long as I think WWE’s comfortable with. And second choice, Ember Moon. I’m convinced Smackdown is gonna win the men’s briefcase, so Raw’s got to get the women’s, and I don’t see either Alexa (who’s due to spend some time in the midcard) or Natalya (who’s Natalya) winning it.
Men’s Money In The Bank: Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens, Bobby Roode, Braun Strowman, The Miz, Rusev, Finn Balor, Big E
Same here, two picks, and an early prediction that Big E will enter the match for the New Day. It doesn’t matter, though, because New Day ain’t wining. Smackdown is, though. It’s probably going to be Samoa Joe. Rusev is my second choice,. I know logically that Miz has his reality series and they could promote that by making him the first ever two time briefcase holder, but man, Rusev needs a thing.
