THIRTY SEVEN DOLLS #30: Sectaurs Stellara (Vacation Haul)

Just  think, if Trump hadn’t updated his original tariff (remember tariffs?) thirty dolls estimate to thiry-seven, Id be done with this bit. Don’t worry. We’ll hit 37 four figs deep into my June Pile of Loot once it arrives.

This was a weird off-the-shelf impulse buy off a shelf in Sacramento between Japan and home. I don’t care about Sectaurs really at all. But. She was shiny. She was cheap. And she was from Nacelle, and since my whole vacation deal was expanding the number of companies I had figures from (adding MAFEX and Kaiyodo to the list) i fugred I’d get me a Nacelle to play around with before the Start Trek figs ship in the fall.

And she’s weird as fuck, honestly. She’s a collection of odd choices I do not fully understand. Choices congruous with an $18 price point, mind you, but weird nonetheless. There are double knees, but they’re VERY loose. Like, almostt to the point of interfering with standing loose. Elbows are 90 degree hinge and swivels. Hips are good - better than most Super7’s. But the neck is just a swivel - no up, down, or tilt at all. And there is ZERO torso articulation. Just a brick from neck to hips. Not even a waist swivel. I don’t know who the Sectaurs fans are and if they appreciate what this does to the look or not, but I find it offputting.

Oh, and the ankles are straight ball joints that don’t do anything but swivel, as I lurned when Right Foot popped off when trying to point the toes and now it pops off at the slightest thought. It even stayed behind in the photo box once when I picked her up to reposition her.

Accessory-wise, she comes with a tiny dagger, a tiny shield, and a weird gun that slots into a back holster. So that’s pretty solid for the price point. She’s not gonna be in my top ten faves for 2025, but I’ve had issues like hers on figs I’ve spent 2-3x the price on so I’ve been angrier.

For the pic, again, I don’t know shit about Sectaurs and the internet wasn’t much more helps, so I decided to join her with the weird “Toy That Had A Marvel Tie-In Comnic In The 80’s” subcollection I appear to be building. The original plan was to have them swapping stories in a bar but I couldn’t find a good bg pick, stumbled across a pool table in a pub during the search, went with that idea and a different pic. Surprisingly, my one-shot group pic worked straight away without any individual repositioning, which is more luck than improving skill, to be honest. Happy with Crystar playing pool tho.
