ETERNIAN WEDGIE!I’m way more into Cartoon Collection than I ever thought I would be. I think it’s the same way I feel about Batman ‘66 / McFarlane Retro. There are certain lines with a slight jankiness to the toys that matches the jankiness of the source material. So, you know, even though Cartoon Collections has mostly modern articulation, none of them can bend at the waist worth a damn. Which would annoy me, except that they’re 20 bucks toys that frequently include Surprise Extras.
Case in point,Invisible Skeletor. He’s a clear Skeletor with a clear staff, fine. Who also comes with an episode-specific accessory, the helmet that makes him invisible. That’s where a Cartoon Collections would normally stop and be great for it. But this Skeletor includes two other items. First, swappable faces - open and closed mouth - a first for the Cartoon Collections. And second, Orko’s cloak draped over him som that He-Man would know where to punch him in the face.
Is there a flaw? There is a flaw. The helmet doesn’t fit or stay on his head which is why it’s not precariously balanced on it in this picture. Otherwise, though, chef’s kiss.
The pic… is elaborate. First, I had to, with the help of Cathy, make the underwear. So it’s a small bit of white fabric she provided, a length of the wire I bought for web lines, and a bunch of putty. The putty sticks the wire to the fabric, the end of the fabric tucks into the swivel waist joint, boom, wedgie prop. I did do a bit of cleanup and extension on the lft side digitally to smooth it out.
Also, this was one shot - I managed to nail getting the hand lined up with the underwear. The extra trnasparency on Skeletor doesn’t mean he was shot separate.
