I’m glad I didn’t know how great this wes. I’d have paid full price months ago.See, I had a Hook. Perfectly acceptable Hook. Came in the Hookhausen two-pack. So I wasn’t about to drop Ringside Exclusive prices for a second Hook even if he did have the good shorts and the bag of chops. But then he went on sale and actual Hook retired the FTW championshipt that’s also in the package so I figured I’d better jump on it. So I did.
And then I got it, and noticed four other things that, when put together, make this the definitive, ultimate Hook figure. I knew some of these were included, I just didn’t put the pieces together. Those four things are Sunglasses Head, Backpack, Soft Goods Hoodie, and most importantly, Chip Holding Hand. Which means you have everything you need for an absolutely fucking perfect Hanging Around Backstage Hook, which is my FAVORITE Hook, but then you also have a non-sunglasses head and you can take the stuff off and just have a very good in-ring Good Shorts Hook. Rendering the Hookhausen one very redundant, but that’s part of the game, I guess.
Anyway, on a Jazwares Effort Scale, this is a 10 out of 10. They really put thought and care into everything, not just what it is but how it works together. I love it.
For the pic I built a set of steps out of green Lego to get him posed on, got my trusty old Unrivaled Danhausen to do a bit of background stalking, spent way too much effort on getting Danhausen behind the railing (y’all with better eyes will probably find it messy as fuck) and added some shadowing under Hook’s butt and legs.
