@midnight Power Rankings (Dec 5-8)

A very nice joke indeed.

Clearly, I liked my comedy this week like I like my Pepsi - dark. Steve Agee and Mike Lawrence brought their customary dark streaks to standout performances on @midnight this week, but bonus props to Nate Fernald, who I remember as the Nice Boy Telling Nice Jokes from the Pete Holmes Show, who's best joke wasn't even dark, just ridiculously brilliant. This is a tough week to rank the shows, because every single episode had a can't-miss performance. Which means no skipping, which means who cares which show was technically best? But I'm gonna give it to Monday, because while it wasn't funny per se, J. Mascis' performance was weird and interesting. Then Wednesday for overall strength, then Tuesday, then Thursday, which you're really only watching for Fernald.
