FIVE DOWN, ONE TO GO.September’s Pile of Loot continues with the Archive Collection re-release of Bossk, my childhood favorite of all the Empire bounty hunters. Yes, more than Boba Fett. And then they made Book of Boba Fett and I was PROVEN RIGHT! Give Bossk his Disney+ series already.
Anyway, Bossk is fine. He’s a very old Black Series figure so his engineering and articulation is very much “he’s on screen for 60 seconds and just stands there so fuck it” style. He does have a lovely sculpt and paint job and is definitely Bossk but a world of imaginary action poses is not in his future. Also his gun strap is somehow too long to look good when it’s just hanging there but not long or flexible enough to actually be used in any pose.
But what matters is that my Bounty Hunter Scene collection is one IG-88 re-release away from being complete! And in honor of that, I went to a ton of trouble to make an all new background, extending the right side (at no point could I find all the hunters in a single shot), removing everyone except IG088, and restoring the rest of the background as best I could. I took pictures of the figures in two shots - left and right of IG=88, for obvious reasons.
Took a few tries to get good positioning and angling on the Bossk/4-LOM/Zuckuss grouping, and blaster to my head, I think it absolutely could be better, but I also know I’m going to get another shot at this someday, when either Hasbro or eBay come through.
